Wow, I can’t believe I am 38 weeks already. The last month has just flown by, what with finishing up work, and then christmas and new years.
I was a bit late in packing my hospital bag, I kept telling myself I had ages, plus I was waiting to see if my sister bought me a nice overnight bag for christmas, and she did 🙂
At 38 weeks and the fact that I just found out I am going to be induced next week and see my bubs a bit sooner than i thought, I figured it was time to start packing!
I have had my list of what I wanted to take ready for ages, I wont bore you will how many undies and shirts I’m taking, will just let you know all the beauty related products going in the bag/s.
For most of the products I raided my samples drawer, which includes things I have received in beauty boxes as well as gifts with purchase like the priceline skin care bags.
Also it may not look like a lot, and that is because I am not planning on being in hospital for very long. I hate them, they are uncomfortable and after bubs is born I will be coming home as soon as they will let me.
Cedel Dry Shampoo
This was one of the first things I grabbed, I am down to only washing my hair once, maybe twice a week, So I will wash my hair the night before I go in and use this afterwards to make it feel all shiny and new again.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing pads
These have become a staple in my skin care routine lately. I love how my skin feels after using these So they were a must to take with me. Great for freshening up at the end of the day.
Swisse deep-sea hydrating mist toner
Hospitals can be so drying for the skin, so I wanted something to give my skin an extra boost, and this does that as well as tone. Win WIn.
Lanolips 101 ointment
As with above I’ll need constant lip relief, and lanolips is great. Plus it can double as a nipple cream. who doesn’t love a multipurpose product.
Neutrogena Makeup Removing cleansing towelettes
Not that I’ll be wearing a lot of makeup in hospital, but these are easy to travel with, and will leave my skin nice and clean.
L’occitane zesty lime hand cream
This is such a lovely hand cream, I love the smell of this one, great to pamper my hands with. plus it is a handy size.
Garnier Miracle skin cream
I am taking absolutely no makeup except what may be a the bottom of my handbag (maybe a pressed powder) So I wanted something, just in case i felt the need to spruce up a little bit. This seemed the easiest, and the less fussiest way to do that.
Urban skincare co Daily body cleanser
This was the only body cleanser I had in my stash surprisingly, I knew I was hanging onto it for a reason.
Villianes ginger snapped soap
I have had this for ages, I love the smell of this soap, and though I am not a huge fan of using bar soap, I may feel the urge to use it. Even if I don’t it’ll make my bag smell yum.
Suvana organic paw paw and honey balm
Another product I have had for ages and hadn’t used. Thought this would be handy in the hospital, as it is multipurpose, great for dry skin and can even be used on nappy rash.
Avene eau thermale Spring water
I have been saving this for just this occasion. This will be in delivery with me, I figure a nice refreshing face spritz would feel divine.
The only thing missing from the above is I decanted some of my Sukin Derma daily gentle wash, which I have been using as my everyday facial cleanser, into a travel bottle. Then I have the usual supplies, toothbrush and toothpaste, mouth wash, shower puff, deodorant, hairbrush and a few hair ties and clips.
So I think I am ready to go. My bags are packed and now I just need to try to relax and enjoy the last few days of quiet before we have a newborn again.
I am not sure when I will be able to post again, I’m going to try to do my nails this weekend, and hope to get a post up on monday with that. But I make no guarantees.
But I will not be silent by any means.
